Child Safety
At Decora, we take safety very seriously, and place paramount importance on our Child Safety Campaign, aiming to help customers understand the potential hazards that can be posed by unrestrained cords, braids, loops and chains of blinds.
Always focused on new products and product development, Decora have established a range of child safety products suitable for all types and styles of blinds, and are continuously looking for new ways that a safety feature can be introduced, to enhance our child safety programme further.
Home should be a place where children are safe and protected, but children naturally love to climb, explore and play, and the possible risks may not be immediately obvious, so your customers might need to be made aware of these issues. There are simple steps that can be taken to minimise risks, to keep children safe. At Decora we recognise how sensitive an issue this is, and offer full support to all customers on how to cover this matter. Please feel free to download our new Child Safety Brochure for plenty of helpful advice and information.

Decora recommends...
Decora's Child Safety campaign encourages customers not only to consider safety devices that can be added to a blind but also provide further advice on how to keep children safe around window fittings:
Furniture should be positioned at a safe enough distance that children cannot climb onto blinds.
Cords and chains should be kept on a child safety clear when near cots or beds.
Cords and chains should not be allowed to hang free. Use Decora's safety cleat or easy-break chain connectors.
Keep aware when children are around vertical blinds with bottom chains.
Decora continue to strive to create a safe living environment for children through the development of child friendly products and features to make all blinds child friendly.
