The 2 main airports in Northern Ireland are Belfast International and Belfast City Airport. Belfast has excellent links to many European countries. The International Airport operates scheduled services to many destinations with a wide range of onward worldwide flights available through London and Amsterdam.

Multi-cultural Workforce

Decora Blind Systems Ltd has recently recruited a number of people from Poland to work in our Production Department. We have translated work instructions and health and safety documents to assist with comprehension and training. In addition, our local college has set up English speaking classes to help improve basic language skills. In addition, we have employees from a number of other nationalities who have become valuable members of our team.

How to Apply
  1. You MUST be eligible to work in the UK and be in a position to provide evidence as per the section below on List of Evidence Required to Prove Eligibility to Work in the UK.

  2. It is desirable that you have:

    • a good understanding of spoken and written English and

    • previous experience in a manufacturing, factory or warehouse environment

List of Evidence Required to Prove Eligibility to Work in the UK

In advance of commencing employment, each employee must provide the company with the ORIGINAL of; ONE of the documents included in List 1 OR TWO of the documents included in List 2.

LIST 1

  1. A passport showing that the holder, or a person named in the passport as the child of the holder, is a British citizen or a citizen of the UK and Colonies having the right of abode in the UK.

  2. A passport or national identity card showing that the holder, or a person named in the passport as the child of the holder, is a national of a EEA country or Switzerland.

  3. A residence permit, registration certificate or document certifying or indicating permanent residence issued by the Home Office, the Border and Immigration Agency, or the UKBA to a national of a EEA country or Switzerland.

  4. A permanent residence card or document issued by the Home Office, the Border and Immigration Agency, or the UKBA to the family member of a national of a EEA country or Switzerland.

  5. A passport or other travel document endorsed to show that the holder is exempt from immigration control, is allowed to stay indefinitely in the UK, has the right of abode in the UK, or has no time limit on their stay in the UK.

Document Combinations

First combination - An official document issued by a previous employer or Government agency, e.g. HMRC, the DWP, Jobcentre Plus, the Training and Employment Agency NI or the DSDNI, which contains the National Insurance number and name of the person. A P45, P60, National Insurance number card, or a letter from a Government agency may be acceptable to demonstrate a person's National Insurance number in order to have this part of your excuse.

Along with checking and copying a document giving the person's National Insurance number and name, you must also check and copy ONE of the following documents listed in sections 6- 12:

  1. An Immigration Status Document issued by the Home Office, the Border and Immigration Agency, or the UKBA to the holder with an endorsement indicating that the person named in it is allowed to stay indefinitely in the UK or has no time limit on their stay in the UK.

  2. A full birth certificate issued in the UK which includes the name(s) of at least one of the holder's parents.

  3. A full adoption certificate issued in the UK which includes the name(s) of at least one of the holder's adoptive parents.

  4. A birth certificate issued in the Channel Islands, the Isle of Man or Ireland.

  5. An adoption certificate issued in the Channel Islands, the Isle of Man or Ireland.

  6. A certificate of registration or naturalization as a British citizen.

  7. A letter issued by the Home Office, the Border and Immigration Agency, or the UKBA to the holder which indicates that the person named in it is allowed to stay indefinitely in the UK.

    LIST 2

    This list applies after twelve months have passed, but only in the case of immigrants with limited entitlement to employment in the UK.

    1. A passport or travel document endorsed to show that the holder is allowed to stay in the UK and is allowed to do the type of work in question.

    2. A Biometric Residence Permit issued by the UKBA to the holder which indicates that the person named in it can stay in the UK and is allowed to do the work in question.

    3. A residence card or document issued by the Home Office, the Border and Immigration Agency, or the UKBA to a family member of a national of a EEA country or Switzerland.

    Document Combinations

    First combination - A work permit or other approval to take employment issued by the Home Office, the Border and Immigration Agency, or the UKBA.

    Along with the actual permission from the Border & Immigration Agency or the UKBA for the person to take the employment in question, you must also ensure that the work permit holder or PBS applicant has been given leave to enter or remain in the UK. This will be in the form of:

    • a passport or another travel document endorsed to show the holder is allowed to stay in the UK and is allowed to do the work in question.

    • a letter issued by the Home Office, the Border and Immigration Agency, or the UKBA to the holder or the employer or prospective employer confirming the same.

    Second combination – A Certificate of Application issued by the Home Office, the Border and Immigration Agency, or the UKBA to or for a family member of a national of a EEA country or Switzerland stating that the holder is permitted to take employment which is less than 6 months old.

    An Application Registration Card (ARC) issued by the Home Office, the Border and Immigration Agency or the UKBA stating that the holder is 'ALLOWED TO WORK' or 'EMPLOYMENT PERMITTED'.

    Third combination – An official document issued by a previous employer or Government agency, e.g. HMRC, the DWP, Jobcentre Plus, the Training and Employment Agency NI or the DSDNI, which contains the National Insurance number and name of the person. A P45, P60, National Insurance number card, or a letter from a Government agency may be acceptable to demonstrate a person's National Insurance number in order to have this part of your excuse.
